Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD planned for LA

Acura has been setting new standards in automotive design and engineering for two decades now through bold innovation, a refined sense of aesthetics, and precision manufacturing. The company is developing the 2014 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD which will be introduced on the occasion of the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 20th.

The 2014 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD reunites high expectations form the manufacturer. It is wanted to become the company’s flagship sedan, being called the most powerful and at the same time the most technologically advanced Acura sedan ever built. The company plans to put the vehicle on sale starting next year, although the price is still not known.

The 2014 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD is powered by a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine and three electric motors that together generate a combined maximum output of 377 bhp (281 kW). The powertrain works linked to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission which allows the hybrid model to average 30 mpg (7.8 L/100km / 36 mpg UK). The car is also equipped with a torque-vectoring Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system that promises to deliver extraordinary handling and all-weather performance capabilities. We’ll find out more soon, as the LA Motor Show is quickly approaching.
