Ford Falcon XR8 resurrected

Since its constitution in 1903, Ford Motor has been a company whose automobiles changed the same rhythm as the world moved. The company is present in the entire world, becoming a global organization and an unmistakable brand. The Americans from Ford have announced their plan of resurrecting the Ford Falcon XR8 for the Australian market. It will be presented as a 2014 year model.

The return of the XR8 is synchronized to coincide with the introduction of the 2014 Falcon and Territory update. The XR8 will be available through Ford’s full network of dealers in Australia, making the renowned Miami performance engine more accessible for V8 lovers. So, guilty for powering the model will be a V8 5.0-liter supercharged engine generating 455 HP (335 kW). It will also feature a Brembo braking system and a sport-tuned suspension.

Ford clearly stated that they intend to close the manufacturing facilities in Australia starting 2016. So this Ford Falcon XR8 is the last beat of heart for the Australian Ford production. As the Falcon XR8 returns to the Ford range, the Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) range will retire. Ford has planned a series of actions during 2014 to mark the final FPV models and to celebrate the brand’s iconic status. Further details will be revealed at a later date.
