Peugeot 208 R approved

Peugeot is certainly the most famous French car manufacturer in the world. It has more than 60 million vehicles sold on the entire planet. The brand is a successful one mostly because it tries to reunite excellence and emotion in its vehicles. And it is precisely this reunion that will also characterize the Peugeot 208 R, which has just been confirmed to enter the process of manufacturing as a range topping model.

The future plans of Peugeot are sure to include the 208 R model. This R version will certainly be ranked higher than the current GTi variant. The French officials haven’t established a date for officially introducing the model. However, it rumoured to enter the market only in 2015 or even later. The specialists will most likely use the same elements on the RCZ R. In this case, the lighter vehicle will be more powerful.

The future Peugeot 208 R might be powered by the same 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder THP engine as the RCZ R and 308 R concept but the 208 R will definitely have other power figures compared to those two since it will be considerably lighter. Peugeot is targeting to go upmarket and keep its fame by offering premium versions of every model they currently have in their fleet. We’ll have to wait a little to see if their plan succeeds.
