Mercedes has always been a respectable brand in the auto field. Its top position is clear to everybody, including to the rival companies which try to do their best to keep up with it. Mercedes cars are continuously submitted to changes or even invented from zero. We could very easily say that it is a restless company. And it has just revealed its latest project, the Mercedes Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo.
Contrary to what you would expect, this Mercedes Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo is a virtual concept specially created for the latest installment in the Gran Turismo franchise out on December 6. So, public roads are not going to have the pleasure of hosting such an outstanding vehicle. However, Mercedes managed to build a 1:1 scale model which will get tested at the Research & Development Center in Sunnyvale, California. A rear wheel drive system is desired for the car which also features gullwing doors.
The one and only Mercedes Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo is powered by an AMG V8 engine that generates 577 bhp (430 kW) and 590 lb-ft (799 Nm) of torque. This is hosted a body that weighs 3,053 lbs (1,384 kg). Braking is offered from AMG's high-performance ceramic composite brakes. The back of the amazing concept is governed by eight tailpipes providing a sonorous exhaust note that authentically celebrates the V8's love of high engine speeds.
Although there aren’t any inside photos yet, the officials at Mercedes say that F1 is the one that inspired them in designing the interior cabin. There will be red integral sport seats that mix with the black flooring of the footwell to create a protective shell. The center display is placed above the racing steering wheel offering all the needed data while operation is handled with the help of the rocker switches set in the dashboard's center as well as in an overhead console. If you want to enjoy the AMG Vision Gran Turismo, you will have to buy a PS 3, if you don’t have one already.
