The very hearing of the word Porsche and your thoughts fly towards art. Because this is what Porsche is, a different form of expression. That’s exactly why none of the Porsche vehicles can be named common. They are unique products. Back in 2010, Porsche introduced the 918 Spyder Concept at Geneva Motor Show and it was a huge step in the history of the brand. Now, after a three years’ wait, the production model was finally revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. And now, surprise… Porsche upgrades the recently introduced vehicle.

The production version of the Porsche 918 Spyder was supposed to need 2.7 seconds to sprint the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run but it seems that the vehicle can do it in only 2.5s. If the vehicle is equipped with the Weissach package, the 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) speed is achieved in 7.2 seconds, making it 0.5s faster than originally stated. In addition, Porsche reduced 2.1 seconds from the 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) sprint so now it is accomplished in 19.9 seconds.

Porsche although made the 918 Spyder be quicker on electric mode, too. The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint is now realized in 6.2 seconds, representing a 0.7s lowering compared to the original performance figures admitted by Porsche. In addition, the time is reduced to 6.1 seconds when the 918 Spyder is equipped with the optional Weissach kit. And to make things look even greater for the German company, let’s remember that the 918 Spyder is the fastest car with global road homologation, making a 6 minutes and 57 seconds lap in the Nurburgring.
