Honda Civic Type R prototype showed in photos

Honda is a company built on dreams which inspire the people working there to create innovative products. These products are meant to bring benefit to society and its mobility. One of these sorts of dreams is being set in the form of the Honda Civic Type R. There are many rumours surrounding the future car and maybe this is exactly why Honda decided to reveal the prototype vehicle. The Civic R is scheduled to debut in 2015.

By that time, though, the future Tokyo Motor Show will host the revealing of the new Honda Civic Type R. A prototype previewing the model has been submitted to a great number of tests. Honda has made public a few photos with the car, just to keep interest going. This precise Honda is a special one because it is the first European model which will receive the brand's new VTEC Turbo engine that has been extensively developed from Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology range.

The Honda Civic Type R is powered by a direct-injection, turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine which will produce at least 280 HP (206 kW). The Civic R is wanted to become the fastest front-wheel drive car around the Nurburgring. The target is to beat the 8m 7.97s time achieved in 2011 by the Renault Megane RS Trophy. The chances are huge and hopefully we’ll find out more details until we get to see the car on track.
