Cadillac has announced the performance specifications for the 2014 ELR. The vehicle was launched in January and will be available for purchase in the first quarter of 2014 with prices starting from $75,995 (excluding government rebates and including a $995 destination charge).
Motivation is provided by the 1.4 liter petrol engine generator together with a 16.5 kWh lithium- ion battery and an electric motor. The 2014 ELR has a maximum combined output of 217 bhp (162 kW) and a 400 Nm (295 lb- ft) peak torque. Fuel efficiency wise, the vehicle`s consumption is approximately 33 mpg combined and 82 mpg while in EV mode. Equipped like this, the 2014 ELR can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds (range- extending mode) and 8.8 seconds (in EV mode). The maximum attainable speed is of 170 Km/ h (106 mph). The vehicle has a 37 miles (60 Km) driving autonomy while only on electricity and an approximate 345 miles (555 Km) overall autonomy. A fully depleted battery is recharged in five hours while using a 240V charging station and it can take between 12.5- 18 hours while using a 120V travel charger.
The 2014 Cadillac ELR rides on 20X 8.5 inch cast aluminum wheels and comes with 245/ 40R20 all- season tires. The 1837 kg (4050 lb) vehicle measures an overall length of4724 mm, a width of 1847 mm and a 1420 height with a 2695 wheelbase.
Interior wise, the luxurious cabin features an elegant 2+2 layout given by the leather trimmed upholstery combined with chrome and wood accents. The carbon fiber trim which is also available comes along with a suede microfiber headliner and Opus semi- aniline leather seating. The cabin features an eight inch configurable instrument as well as a display designed for relevant driving information.
The vehicle features an array of advanced active safety features such as Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Safety Alert Seat.
