BMW i3 received 4 stars from EuroNCAP

New crash-test results have been made public by EuroNCAP involving new vehicles. Some of them might be unexpected, but well, it is always better to know. According to the specialists models like the BMW i3 EV, Nissan Note and the Ford EcoSport have just received four stars out of five which is the maximum. On the same list we can find the German Volkswagen T5 van with four stars as well. There has been some good news for the Mercedes-Benz Citan which has received four stars after obtaining three stars in the first crash test. To be more precise, the model was penalized for obtaining a low score on pedestrian protection and for the lack of safety assist systems like for instance: a speed assistance system. They did manage to raise the score with adult occupant protection and child occupant protection, obtaining 86 % and 81 % respectively. The Ford EcoSport obtained good ratings for adult occupant protection, 93 %, obtained 77 % for child occupant protection and only 58 % for pedestrian protection. Moving on, we also have to mention models like the Nissan Note who scored 86 % on adult occupant protection, 58 % on pedestrian protection and 82 % on child occupant. On the other hand, the model obtained the highest rating for safety assist thanks to the speed assistance system which is also present in the Mercedes-Benz Citan. The VW T5 had a very tough period obtaining 32 % in terms of pedestrian protection, 79 % adult occupant protection and 74 % for child occupant protection. Unlike for the other models, the T5 got 57 % with safety assist.
