Subaru has officially taken the wraps off the new 2015 WRK during the Los Angeles Auto Show which has just closed its gates for this year yesterday, the 1st of December. Although the vehicle has had numerous teasers prior to its official debut, it turned out that the auto has little resemblance to the WRX concept launched in march of this year, proving to be an Impreza inspired ride. In spite of the fact that the 2015 WRK was not exactly what the public expected, the auto comes with an array of nice features, highlighted by a new promotional video released by the company.
With heavy Impreza inspired styling cues, Subaru informs that the headlights and taillight clusters, front fenders, rear doors, the hood as well as the bumpers were specifically designed for this model as a key trait. The inside is also a strong reminder of the 2011 Impreza; the cabin features a flat bottomed steering wheel and fabric sport seats. We notice the presence of a new instrument cluster together with a 4.3 inch display designed for relevant driving information. Although the standard vehicle comes with automatic control climate control, buyers will have to pay extra for the presence of heated front seats, a much needed GPS navigation system or leather wrapped seats.
The 2015 WRX rides on 17 inch alloy wheels with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx RT tires while motivation comes from a turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder engine mated to a manual (standard) or a Sport Lineartronic CVT gearbox. The optional transmission comes with three different modes: Sport, Sport Sharp and Intelligent. Concerning the engine, it has an output of 268 HP (200 kW) and a 258 lb- ft (349 Nm) peak torque. The company still hasn`t provided performance related details, however the promotional video informs that, equipped with a manual transmission the car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 90 Km/h) in `just over` five seconds.
