Volvo might get rid of the pedestrian airbags

Recently Volvo have reveled their latest achievements regarding contrived under-bonnet pedestrian airbags. According to different sources, the carmaker plans to get rid of them in a soft, but certain way. It is a pity that this is how much they have managed to last in terms of car safety. I it also a bit strange as now, more than before electronics and crash-avoiding sensors are part of our lives as are very common with a lot of new models. Apparently this is the information received directly from the vice-president of the company, LexKerssmakers who made this declaration during the Tokyo Motor Show earlier this year. The man declared the fact that he is not even sure if the bonnet airbags will be necessary as the SUV is quite high. The purpose for this airbag is for the pedestrians to land soft, but because the car is so high, they will do this regardless, the man also added. This is his opinion and the apparent reason for the model to be offered without these airbags. The carmaker will introduce them into their future model, the XC90 which will be introduced in 2015. By then, the specialists hope technology will evolve enough to make things simpler. Another important detail refers to the fact that Volvo is trying to replace the diesel-electric hybrids with the conventional gasoline-electric setup, which are already being used by so many carmakers already. There are a lot of plans for the future, but for the moment, there are none clear. In this case we will need to wait and see what Volvo has prepared for us.
