Porsche Macan could get a new engine

Porsche is a name associated with high quality products and surely their vehicles have impressed, since its constitution as a company, a huge number of persons. Among their cars that shook the auto world we also find the Porsche Macan. Back in 2011 the Macan was known under the codename Cajun. It was just the baby Cayenne and everything was leading to the fact that it would only have three doors when it went out. Well, that didn’t happen, as you are pretty aware of and in the end we had to face a traditional but elegant crossover.

A new face of the Porsche Macan has been revealed not a long time ago at the L.A. Auto Show, after a long and teased waiting. Based on the Porsche Cayenne, it pretty much looks the same. When released, the CUV was available in three engine types: the Macan S was powered by a V6 3.0-liter twin-turbo developing 340 HP (250 kW), the Macan S Diesel that was powered by a V6 3.0-liter turbo developing 258 HP (190 kW) and the range-topping Macan Turbo that used a V6 3.6-liter twin-turbo generating 400 HP (294 kW).

The Porsche officials have just revealed some plans regarding the Porsche Macan. They say that the crossover will get, by the end of 2014, a four-cylinder petrol engine. This will be teamed with a new sporty exhaust system and it is a top priority. No further information was made public, but the same engine could be placed on the Cayman and Boxster, too. Till this becomes real, the 2014 Porsche Macan will be available at the German dealers since next April having a starting price of 57,930 EUR.
