BMW X1 headed to Detroit with minor updates

BMW announced their plans to introduce an updated variant of the X1 during the soon to come North American International Auto Show. The 2014 edition of the event will begin with the press preview days set to take place on the 12th and 13th of January prior to the `Public Show days` taking place between the 18th and 26th of January.

Prior to its public debut, the manufacturer describes the BMW X1 as bringing ` eye-catching exterior accents, a more refined interior ambience and innovative equipment features.  The vehicle is due to be available for purchase immediately after its public debut sometime in the spring of 2014.

The exterior of the auto catches the eye with its revised air intake vents from the front apron. The stylish intake vents were designed to further accentuate the sporty- aggressive look of the X1. In addition to this, the updated version comes with daytime driving lights as a standard. Furthermore, the new X1 rides on stylish 17 inch light alloy wheels with an elegant V- spoke design. The manufacturer also added the `Sparkling Brown` metallic shade to the existing exterior paint coverings available for the BMW X1.

Interior wise, the company did not bring a lot of modifications to the cabin. The BMW xLine, BMW Sport Line and the M Sport variants feature a `soft- touch material` wrapped instrument cluster visor. For the optional interior trims, customers can choose between three different accents: matt Coral Red, High- gloss Black or pearl- gloss Chrome. A distinctive feature of the updated X1 is the stainless steel finisher designed to protect the bottom tailgate edge.

BMW included `the very last Internet- based services` which are to be added to the current range of BMW ConnectedDrive features. An array of new services such as the Online Entertainment and ECO PRO Analyser will be made available for the modified X1. In addition to this, countless apps will also be available for IOS and Android operating systems starting with the spring of 2014.
