2014 Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept to be introduced at NAIAS

The Volkswagen Beetle is a name which takes us way back in history, which allows memories come back to life and which makes us conscious about the way ages change and things together with them, too.  The Volkswagen Beetle entered production for the first time in 1945, although it was designed sooner, in 1930. The Beetle was thought as an economical car and back then it shook the world through its futuristic and unique look. The same shape has been kept over years, and now everybody can recognize the bug at the first sight. Volkswagen is about to introduce an update version of the Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept.

The first Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept was introduced quite a long time ago, back in 2000. The brand made clear its plans to present a revised version of the bug at the 2014 NAIAS which is about to begin in a couple of days. The vehicle is an attempt of a crossover like car, of course a smaller CUV. It features flared wheel arches, protective plates, black moldings and large alloy wheels. The cabin also has a few yellow accents and a handle which has taken the place of the glove box.

The 2014 Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept is powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter gasoline engine that generates 210 HP (154 kW) sent to the wheels through a dual-clutch 6-speed DSG. Everything is leading to the idea that a production version will be out sometime in 2015. All aspects are favourable, Volkswagen is a continuously expanding brand, it defies any crisis and the CUV market is still welcoming, because the CUV request is getting bigger by day.
