Mercedes GLA 45 AMG detailed before NAIAS

Mercedes-Benz is one of the greatest auto manufacturers in Europe. This is due partly to the intense competition between the German brands and of course because of the company’s desire to score points in its favour. As the crossover market is continuously expanding, Mercedes has to make a move in gaining more territory in the CUV segment. Well, their next plan is to introduce the Mercedes GLA 45 AMG.

The Mercedes GLA 45 AMG will have its debut at the NAIAS, in a couple of days. However, the German officials decided to act a bit in their favour. This is why they have released a video with the car and some extra photos. The GLA 45 AMG is aiming to become the most powerful compact crossover ever manufactured. It will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 360 HP (265 kW) and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque. It is linked to a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch transmission and an AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive system which allows the model to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds before reaching an electronically-limited maximum speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

The Mercedes GLA 45 AMG gets an aggressive body kit. It is equipped with an AMG sports suspension and high-performance braking system. Other options worth mentioning include Artico / Dinamica sport seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and brushed aluminum trim. The vehicle looks quite awesome and we’ll have more details in a few days once the North American International Auto Show begins.
