Mini John Cooper Works Concept presented in Detroit

The brand new model of the Mini is previewed by the Mini John Cooper Works concept which is being showcased at the NAIAS, in Detroit, these days. Mini originated as a specific vehicle, a small car originally known as the Morris Mini-Minor and the Austin Seven, launched by the British Motor Corporation in 1959, and developed into a brand with a range of small cars. Mini means efficient production, economical car and social commitment, all mated with offering a fun drive. The company seems very interested in keeping its fans active so they have just presented a near production version of the new model.

The new Mini John Cooper Works concept is previewing the future Mini model which will pretty much look the same like this concept. The production version should come out sometime this year and the model will certainly get to become the top model in the Mini fleet. BMW is currently planning of expanding the Mini fleet and they wish to offer more body style versions in order to attract as many clients as possible.

The new Mini John Cooper Works concept seems to be more aggressive. It is wearing a Bright Highways Grey paint with red accents. It rides on fancy 18-inch alloy wheels and is equipped with a roof spoiler to complete the aero kit created for improving the car's stability during high speeds. There is no information about the unit powering the concept, but most likely the production version will use a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine rated at around 217 bhp (162 kW). It looks great and let’s hope the final product will be on the run in no time.
