The Volkswagen Beetle is a name which takes us way back in history, which allows memories come back to life and which makes us conscious about the way ages change and things together with them, too.  The Volkswagen Beetle entered production for the first time in 1945, although it was designed sooner, in 1930. The Beetle was thought as an economical car and back then it shook the world through its futuristic and unique look. The same shape has been kept over years, and now everybody can recognize the bug at the first sight.

The Volkswagen Beetle, 2014 year model, is powered by a direct-injected 1.8T engine that develops 170HP (127 kW) available at 700 fewer RPM and 249Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque at 2,750RPM. This engine replaces the powering unit of the former generation that is a 5-cylinder 2.5 liter unit. Although the power remains unchanged, the engine is more economical than the old one. It will return 33 mpg US on the highway with the 6-speed automatic gearbox. The city mileage is 25 mpg US (from 22 mpg) and the combined fuel economy stands at 28 mpg US.

The 2014 Volkswagen Beetle also has a 5-speed manual gearbox and will do 24 mpg US in city, 33 mpg US on the highway and 27 mpg US on combined cycle. A novelty on the VW Beetle is the new electric power steering, which is used instead of the old hydraulics one. The 1.8T version of the small car is priced from $20,295 for manual and $21,395 for automatic models. The convertible version comes only as automatic and its price starts at $25,170.
