Skoda plans a Fabia concept for Geneva

Skoda is a company that always faced competition and managed to beat the economical crises, too. The name of the brand hides a passion for sensible engineering, a great design and an awesome precision. And taking into account the quality- price report we might say it is one of the most affordable brand on the market. The most important auto show in the field is approaching and Skoda is making the final touches on a Skoda Fabia concept that should preview the next generation of the model.

The 84th Geneva Motor Show will open the gates in March and it’s the place where the Czech manufacturer intends to present the Skoda Fabia concept which previews the third generation of the model. The future coming vehicle will ride on a shorter version of the MQB platform, named the MQB-A. This will also be used on the next Volkswagen Polo and Seat Ibiza. This means that the Skoda Fabia will be a little longer and wider than the current model. This is translated into more room inside the cabin and some extra space in the trunk.

The same variety of engines that the Skoda and Volkswagen Group got us used to will be kept for the new Fabia. This includes the 3-cylinder 1.2 powering the up! Skoda. The design will be inspired from the current S2000 rally car. If the concept is going to be introduced at Geneva, we’ll see the actual production version no sooner than the Paris Motor Show scheduled for October.
