Audi Q8 e-tron planned

For Audi, sustainability is an important goal to a great economical functioning. They are also keen on protecting the environment and to guarantee a future for generations to come. The four rings brand is one of the top and, at the same time, one of the most famous car producers in the world. The Audi e-tron family is a series of electric and hybrid concept cars shown by Audi from 2009 onwards. And it seems it is going to receive a new member in the form of the Audi Q8 e-tron.

The Audi Q8 e-tron will be specially created to battle against the new Tesla Model X. The rumours indicate that this version of the range-topping SUV will become reality sooner than expected. The vehicle will borrow some of the technology used on the Audi R8 e-tron. This means that the electric vehicle will have enough power for about 370 miles (595 km).

The Audi Q8 e-tron should be equipped with a large battery pack with a capacity of at least 80 kWh. It will be released in production form in 2017 or later with electric motors which will power both axles to provide the SUV with an all-wheel drive setup. Until then, the regular Q8 is expected to be officially revealed. This will use the next generation Q7 platform and will be powered by a variety of engine, gasoline, diesels, but also plug-in hybrid systems. We’ll get to see the Q8 by the end of the year, both as a five and seven seater.
