Honda Civic Type-R Concept goes to Geneva

Honda is a company built on dreams which inspire the people working there to create innovative products that are meant to bring benefit to society and its mobility. One of these sorts of dreams is being set in the form of the Honda Civic Type R. There were many rumours surrounding the future car and they will soon be clarified. Honda announced that the Civic Type R Concept will be introduced in March, at the Geneva Motor Show.

Although the Honda Civic Type R Concept will be unveiled in a month, the production version will only come out next year, promising a more aggressive look than the standard model. The car will feature wide tracks with vented wheel arch extensions and a spectacular rear wing with futuristic taillights. There will also be a quad exhaust system and a rear diffuser, along with bespoke black alloy wheels and a matte black finish which begins at the rear bumper and surrounds the entire car.

The Honda Civic Type R is powered by a direct-injection, turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine which will produce at least 280 HP (206 kW). The Civic will be equipped with a quad exhaust setup and a rear wing, or at least the pictures allow us to see these. The vehicle will also be brought closer to the ground and it will ride on a larger set of wheels. The direction, the transmission and the braking systems will probably benefit of some upgrades. We’ll have more details in a few weeks.
