Maserati GT Concept prepared for Geneva

The Italian company Maserati is more than just a car manufacturer. It has become a culture in terms of sports cars. And according to the latest news the big brand is working on a new concept. This is the Maserati GT concept which should be officially presented at the 84th Geneva International Motor Show. This is the long awaited auto show of the year, gathering all the greatest names in the auto field. And as Maserati is certainly one of them, the company can’t miss the event scheduled for the beginning of March.

The Maserati GT Concept is being created with the important aim to preview the company’s new entry level sports car. The future model has a clear target, to battle against the Jaguar F-Type and Porsche 911, cars which benefit of great attention from the public and which attract plenty of clients.

There is not too much information about the Maserati GT Concept but it can be assumed that it will be powered by  a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 that develops 410 HP (310 kW) and a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 with 530 HP (390 kW). The production version is supposed to be released by 2016 and it should use a shorter version of the platform used for the Ghibli and Quattroporte. One thing is for sure: the supercar will be named the Gran Sport and it should be priced somewhere around €80,000 ($109,790 / £66,040). The Geneva Motor Show will clear all of the uncertainties.
