Alfa Romeo 4C chosen the safety car for WTCC

The Italian brand Alfa Romeo worked on a compact super car which represents the true essence of a sports car, according to the brand's values, performance, Italian style and technical excellence aimed at maximum driving pleasure in total safety. This car is the Alfa Romeo 4C whose concept has been presented at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show. The vehicle has just been designated as the safety car for this year’s FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).

The Alfa Romeo 4C Safety Car will debut in the April 12-13 weekend for the first round of the season at Moulay El Hassan Circuit of Marrakech in Morocco. The same vehicle was awarded the "Most Beautiful Car of 2013" title on the occasion of the 29th International Automobile Festival of Paris. The mid-engined, rear-wheel drive lightweight coupe is powered by a 4-cylinder 1.75-liter turbocharged engine generating 240 HP (177 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft). In these terms, it is not exactly a supercar. However, the appearance is gorgeous.

The Alfa Romeo 4C is one of the most fabulous vehicles in its segment. It will soon get a Spider relative which is at the present moment being exhibited in Geneva. The awesome thing is that the producer gave up the uninspired bug-eyed headlights that characterize the 4C. The splendid car will certainly bring some colour into the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
