Saleen based Tesla Model S under development

Saleen Inc. was founded in 1984 in Southern California. The company is specialized in manufacturing vehicles for enthusiast drivers which include technology borrowed from the Saleen/Allen Speedlab race team, eight-time winners of sports car racing manufacturer championships. Saleen designs and manufactures high performance vehicles both for street use and for track racing. The company also produces and sells a huge line of performance elements and it also offers design, engineering and certification services. The staff working there is currently developing a new supercar which is in fact a modified Tesla Model S.

Now, let’s begin with the beginning. The Saleen Tesla Model S is eye grabbing with its Orange County paint scheme and a more aggressive body kit which contains a few components made from carbon fiber such as the rear diffuser and decklid trim. It also features updated front air vents and carbon ceramic brakes. The Tesla stock wheels are replaced with a set of the tuner's own rims. The inside of the vehicle is distinguished by a combination of leather and Alcantara for the two-tone grey upholstery with red contrasting stitching and the tuner's red logo embroidered on the headrests is a must have.

Saleen surely needs to modify the engine configuration. Their Tesla Model S will most likely be faster than the range topping Saleen P85 version. It means it will develop 416 PS (306 kW), allowing the vehicle to do the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in 4.2 seconds and to reach a maximum speed of 130 mph (209 km/h). The first model will be revealed this summer, or at least this is what the company’s officials say.
