Next generation Mazda CX-9 developed

The Mazda CX-9 is a family-friendly crossover that has sportier driving dynamics and a more attractive design than many of its competitors. It’s one of the few remaining crossovers that feature sporty driving feel and a usable third row. The Mazda CX-9 was launched as a 2007 model, and received a substantial update for 2013 to make the big family utility vehicle's line's more similar to those of the compact CX-5 crossover. The Mazda officials are planning to introduce a new generation in 2016.

Although the current generation Mazda CX-9 received a major facelift and it looks great, the Japanese officials confirm that a new version is being developed and it will be out by 2016. It will certainly be a premiere, especially as the vehicle will not be using Ford-sourced parts such as the V6 engine. Instead, it will be powered by a smaller four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine.

The Mazda CX-9 is very famous and appreciated in the U.S.A. so it is very likely that the new generation will not feature a diesel engine, since Americans are not very attracted to diesel engines. Still, there remains a slight chance to see a diesel powering unit just to irritate the competition which is promoting these types of engines on the US market. Let’s remember the Kia Sorento or the Hyundai Santa Fe. The officials also consider manufacturing a more luxurious version, powered by a six-cylinder engine.
