Lancia approaches the end

Does Lancia ring a bell lately? If not, let’s remember a few details. Lancia Automobiles S.p.A. is an Italian  automobile manufacturer  founded in 1906 by Vincenzo Lancia  which became part of the Fiat Group  in 1969. The company has a strong rally heritage and is noted for using letters of the Greek alphabet  for its model names. Well, Fiat has decided to reorganize Lancia and turn it into a national brand.

Lancia will become an Italian-only brand and this is a sure thing especially because it was confirmed by the Chief Operating Officer for Europe, Africa and Middle East at Fiat, Alfredo Altavilla. The entire Lancia concept will be reorganized and the vehicles will only reach the Italian market. And we can all say goodbye to the Lancia Delta, Thema and Voyager. This means that the Ypsilon will remain the only model that will be manufactured and sold in Italy. By 2018 this last model could be axed and that will be the end for the Lancia company in the autofield.
