BMW Vision Gran Turismo developed for PS3

We have already got used to BMW being in the centre of all news. The company is a very active one, constantly developing new projects and releasing new models. And they surely have everything in matter of car models. The German company has just virtually unveiled their new BMW Vision Gran Turismo. The vehicle is specially created for the Gran Turismo 6 video game which can be played only on a Play Station 3.

The BMW Vision Gran Turismo has been created by the BMW Group Design team. They had as a starting point and source of inspiration the real track-only destined M235i Racing. The team has changed the looks of the front and rear spoilers in order to provide an optimal level of downforce. The virtual race car also features carbon fiber air conduction elements that reduce drag and at the same time help lower the car's weight to only 1,180 kg (2,601 lbs) distributed in an even 50:50 front/rear ratio.

The soul of the BMW Vision Gran Turismo is an inline-six 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo engine which develops 549 PS (404 kW) between 6,200 rpm and 7,300 rpm and a maximum torque of 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) achieved at just 1,900 rpm. Power is sent to the rear axle via a six-speed sequential gearbox featuring steering wheel-mounted paddles. We might really see some parts of the Vision once the new M2 model appears next year. Till then, you might just want to buy the PS game to drive the supercar.
