Volkswagen Tiguan planned for autumn

Volkswagen Tiguan is a compact  crossover vehicle  (CUV) manufactured by the German automaker Volkswagen  using the PQ35 platform  of the Volkswagen Golf . All Tiguans feature two-row seating and four-cylinder  engines. The Tiguan debuted as a concept vehicle  at the November 2006 Los Angeles International Auto Show and in production version at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show . In 2011, since the Tiguan has been restyled, more than 700,000 vehicles have been sold worldwide with the greatest sales in Europe, Russia, the United States, China, Brazil, and Australia. Apparently, the German producer is now planning a new Tiguan which is supposed to be presented this autumn.

The new Volkswagen Tiguan will be available in three different body styles. The standard version will be a bit larger than the previous model, measuring around 4500mm in length. There might also be refreshment in the engine lineup. There could be a 1.4-liter TSI engine, a 1.6-liter TDI unit producing 110 PS (81 kW) and a 2.0-liter TDI engine developing from 150-184 PS (110- 135 kW). Rumours say that a Tiguan XL is also planned. This should have a 4990mm length and seven-seat configuration. Its price is supposed to begin somewhere around 30,000 EUR.

A lot of companies are keen on developing crossovers so why would Volkswagen not invest in a continuously developing segment. The company might even introduce a coupe version of the Tiguan, just to please every CUV lovers. The coupe will be a rather sporty vehicle with a four-seat layout. So, there will be much activity at the VW headquarters in the following years. We just have to wait and see what they are building.
