Caterham Group out for sale

Caterham is no ordinary car producer. It represents the peak of driving involvement, offering a sophisticated package of handling, road holding and ride excitement. The brand impressed everyone with their roadsport, supersport, superlight series, or the Seven 160, Seven 620 R and Aeroseven. It has just been reinvented as brand and tries to establish a stable position in its segment.

Well, Caterham Group owner Tony Fernandes has decided to sell the UK-based company, according to a Malaysian business journal. The owner set a price of 589M USD for the entire business. This means the Formula 1 team and also the Caterham Cars division which provides road-legal vehicles for the market. Caterham Composites and Caterham Technology and Innovation are also part of the package.

Although people at Caterham have worked hard to revive the spirit of the brand it seems that the decision is certain. One of the main reasons for this radical decision might be the fail of the deal with the Renault team for the Alpine. Another minus in the Caterham vision is the fact that the public didn’t receive quite well the AeroSeven which made the officials to have some serious doubts in making it production version.
