The Worthersee GTI-Treffen is a huge car festival in Austria. It was originally aimed at Golf GTI enthusiasts but is now open to anything from the VAG stable. 2014 will mark the 33rd anniversary, and it shows no sign of ever stopping! Over 140,000 enthusiasts drive to it from all over Europe, it’s a huge celebration of modern European car tuning culture. It starts this week and one of the stars will be the Volkswagen Amarok Power Concept.

Before its official presentation, a few images with the Volkswagen Amarok have been spotted on the web. The concept looks identical to the pickup concept revealed a year ago. It features an aggressive body kit and massive alloy wheels, as well as LED-infused headlights, black and orange body stripes, a dual exhaust system and a roll over bar. The inside cabin is supposed to adopt the same sporty style, distinguished by a sport steering wheel, a stylish center console and carbon effect accents.

The powering unit is still a mystery. However, specialists admit the possibility that the Volkswagen Amarok will be powered by the same engine as the former model. This is a 3.0-liter TDI V6 engine that developed 272 PS (200 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. It was linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system which permitted the car to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. But we’ll leave the assumptions aside because in no time we will have all the details we need.
