Volkswagen Eos axed

The Volkswagen Eos is a sport compact car produced by the German manufacturer Volkswagen since 2006. It has a retractable hardtop coupe convertible body style and was introduced as the successor of the Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet. It is Volkswagen's first production coupe since the Volkswagen Corrado, which ended production in 1995. And speaking of ending production, it seems that the Eos has got to this point, too, at least in the U.S.

Volkswagen is a rather busy company and it has announced a lot of changes to their 2015 lineup in the United States. New diesel engines are expected as well as a facelifted Jetta and Touareg. However there is not only good news coming from the brand. The Eos and the Routan are two of the models whose road stops this year, arriving at their last model.

The Volkswagen Eos is entering its final year of production. To commemorate this fact, Volkswagen will offer an Eos Final Edition which is essentially an Eos Sport that has been equipped with Cornsilk Beige and black two-tone Vienna leather seating surfaces, contrast stitching, a rearview camera and rain-sensing wipers,  "silver net" interior trim, additional standard equipment and a set of 18-inch alloy wheels. So even though it’s not a great loss for the auto world, the Eos fans should take advantage of this last edition.
