Nissan Qashqai gets new engine

Nissan is a company that is constantly at work, trying to design and manufacture various types of vehicles meant to please as many people as possible. And it does this with the idea that any car they make should be a symbol of freedom and a reflection of the owner’s personality. One of the projects they have long been working at is the new 2014 Nissan Qashqai which has been revealed after a pretty long wait. Well, at that time the officials from Nissan promised a new engine and now it’s time for it.

The Nissan Qashqai was supposed to receive a four-cylinder DIG-T 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 150 HP (110 kW) but it may come as a surprise but the engine has been further developed so that it now generates 163 HP (120 kW) at 5,600 rpm. It produces a maximum torque of 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) available between 2,000 rpm and 4,000 rpm and this enables the crossover to return 48.7 mpg UK (40.5 mpg US or 5.8 liters / 100 km) in the combined cycle with corresponding CO2 emissions of 134 g/km.

This engine on the Nissan Qashqai is called the DIG-T 163 engine and it is available only with a six-speed manual gearbox sending the power to the front wheels. The Qashqai powered by this motor will sprint the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 9.1 seconds and will hit a maximum speed of 124 mph (200 km/h). This type of Qashqai is already available on order and deliveries will begin in January.
