More details on the Mercedes-Benz G 500 4x4? concept

There’s no day without hearing news coming from Mercedes-Benz. The manufacturer seems to be the busiest company in the auto industry. Now they have decided to offer a few details about their Mercedes-Benz G 500 4x4². This is just a concept for now, but the production version will very much resemble it.  The concept is inspired by its relative, the G63 AMG 6x6, featuring some common elements such as an AMG front bumper, carbon fiber flares and a roof-mounted LED light bar. The concept is also equipped with a stainless steel underbody guards, a side exiting exhaust and a set of 22-inch wheels with off-road rubbers.

The Mercedes-Benz G 500 4x4² will feature designo leather seats with diamond quilted DINAMICA accents. It will be powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 422 PS (310 kW). Mercedes was discrete with the performance specifications but the new engine would correspond to the Euro 6 emission standards.

The Mercedes-Benz G 500 4x4² has portal axles and a returned suspension with two spring/damper struts per wheel. One spring/damper strut works conventionally with set damper characteristics, while the other has electronically controlled adjustable damping that can be changed from COMFORT to SPORT in just 15 milliseconds. The ground clearance is excellent and the monster-truck looking vehicle is quite sporty. The production version depends on how well the concept is received. So we are waiting for opinions.
