Land Rover Discovery Sport gets new engine

Land Rover Discovery Sport is one of the most appreciated SUVs on the market. Although it has not long ago been introduced, the vehicle already gets something new, a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter Ingenium turbodiesel engine.

Initially, the Land Rover Discovery received for the European and South Korean markets, two states of tuning: 150 PS (110 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) and 180 PS (132 kW) and 430 Nm (318 lb-ft). The beefier version of the Discovery Sport five-seat automatic model will do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 8.9 seconds. The Euro 6 compliant Ingenium engine enables the 150 PS 6-speed manual five-seat model to do a fuel economy of 57.7 mpg UK (48 mpg US or 4.9 liters / 100 km), with CO2 emissions of 129 g/km.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport equipped with the four-cylinder, 2.0-liter Ingenium turbodiesel engine also received a set of 18-inch alloys shod in low-rolling resistance rubbers. The final drive gearing and engine calibrations are modified in such a way as to make the Discovery Sport as efficient as possible. All these elements are worth of a blue “Sport” badge which means the most economical version in the range.
