Volkswagen C Coupe GTE Concept rendered as a wagon

The star of the auto news these days is the new Volkswagen C Coupe GTE Concept. And it’s no wonder, since the vehicle is one of the most attractive on the market. Barely introduced, the concept has already been submitted to modifications. And Theophilus Chin is the first to have thought about a wagon version of the awesome car. And of course that he digitally represented it so we can see it, too.

The Volkswagen C Coupe GTE Concept has been introduced back in April at the Shanghai Motor Show. A production version is already in the works and next year we’ll see the final product, which should closely resemble the concept. Well, Mr. Chin got us used to changing the looks of a car. This time he presented a more practical version of the coupe, which despite the fact that is not even rumoured to happen, looks interesting.

The Volkswagen C Coupe GTE Concept will be available strictly in China, where it will also be produced. The powering unit will probably be made of a 4-cylinder TSI engine, an electric motor, an 8-speed automatic transmission and a lithium-ion battery pack. The concept packs  245 PS (180 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft), and this should be enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 8.6 seconds and a 144 mph (232 km/h) maximum speed. It only takes 2.3 liters / 100 km and has a 31 miles (50 km) electric range.
