BMW 5-Series envisioned

The 2017 BMW 5-Series is in the works. This hasn’t stopped TopSpeed to create a digital image of a potential future car. The team designed this image thanks to some spy photos recently taken. The vehicle features a wider and more stylish vehicle with evolutionary design with slightly updated front end and what appears to be a short rear overhang. It will use the 35up platform. It should weight 220lbs (100 kg) less than its predecessor.

The 2017BMW 5-Series might use a three-cylinder 1.5-liter turbo engine or even a plug-in hybrid version that will use X5 xDrive40e’s hardware. If the hybrid system remains unchanged, the sedan will have a combined output of 313 PS and 450 Nm. The range-topping M5 is expected to feature an upgraded version of the V8 4.4-liter twin-turbo generating 626 PS (460 kW), as well as an optional xDrive AWD system. However, these are pure speculations for now and we are waiting confirmation from the producer.
