One-off VW Golf GTI Performance ready for Worthersee

Volkswagen is preparing a special one-off version of the Golf GTI Performance for the Worthersee meeting. It will be revealed to the public this Thursday. This special Golf has a nice story behind. It was created by a number of 13 apprentices who used a three-door version which they painted with a two-tone paint and added body graphics and matching wheels. The sporty car features a slightly updated body kit and it is quite probable to have some cabin updates, too.

The regular Volkswagen Golf GTI is powered by a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine generating 230 PS (169 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque.  The entire power is sent to the front wheels via either a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional dual clutch six-speed automatic gearbox.

The standard version of the Golf GTI does the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 6.4 seconds. It is able to reach a maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Having these figures in mind, we expect more from the upgraded Volkswagen that will be introduced at Worthersee.
