Holden Special Vehicles have launched two new models at this year s Australian International Motor Show, in addition to revealing the ClubSport R8 Tourer and W427 Showcar to a Sydney audience for the very first time.

Holden Special Vehicles revealed the seven liter Supercar, the W427 at the Melbourne Motor Show. The model is a tribute to how far the company has come in just twenty years. The power figures are still to be confirmed, but the 7.0-liter engine is likely to produce in excess of 370 kW and 640 Nm of torque. The W427 will be built in limited numbers and the carmaker will also introduce a unique customer relations program to accompany the launch of the new vehicle. The model will go into production in the middle of the year and will be available for sale in dealerships in the third quarter of 2008.

Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) and GM Holden decided to make together a new vehicle for Middle East, in 2008. the result was the popular Chevrolet CSV CR8, an extension of the well known HSV E Series Club Sport R8 model that wears the Chevrolet signature. The car was presented for the first time in November 2008, at the Dubai Motor Show. As part of its 20th anniversary celebration, Holden Special Vehicles revealed two new models and a CLubSport R8 at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney. The ClubSport R8 will be built as a limited edition model and so only 100 units will be produced. It is powered by a LS2 V8 engine capable of developing 307 kW. The carmaker also offers a performance brake package and aggressive styling that helped maintain the success for two decades now. The model will go on sale from October for $65.990 in Australia.

GM Holden revealed the all-new VE Ute range. It offers more features, more useable interior space, greater storage flexibility and more performance than its predecessors. The world-class design and engineering expertise has created a vehicle that successfully integrates sports car performance, ride and handling. The interior offers increased cabin comfort and increased storage space. Under the hood it features a V8 engine capable of developing 270 kW. VE Ute incorporates more standard safety features than its predecessor and benefits from the largest crash modeling program Holden has undertaken. VE is actually the first locally produced Ute equipped with the acclaimed Electronic Stability Program safety technology standard across the range. The model will go on sale starting October 2007.

GM Holden decided to export Global V6 engine to China. Two of its versions will be fitted in the new Buick Park Avenue that will be developed by Shanghai General Motors. This export program will worth several hundred million dollars to GM Holden over the next few years. The Park Avenue will use both the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 2.8-liter V6. This is actually the first vehicle to go into production outside Australia using a global rear-wheel drive architecture developed by GM Holden. The car will feature an exterior that has as base the Holden Statesman with the interior completely redesigned by GM China to suit the local market. The engine export program generated over $570 million in revenue in 2006 alone.

Holden developed the SSX, an all-wheel drive crossover prototype. The luxury four-seat features a V8 engine and AWD handling character becoming the ultimate expression of Holden performance. The rear load compartment comes in for equally stylish treatment. In the passenger compartment you can see black leather sports seats in 2+2 configuration. The SSX announces its high output V8 performance potential with a wide track stance, wheel arch extensions over 19-inch magnesium alloys and a lot more. At the rear, the hatchback is cleverly integrated and edged with a slim black spoiler. The SSX is set even further apart with specific blackout tail lamps.

Decades ago, Holden was trying all kinds of different concepts and decided to go with a sports coupe in 1969. The GTR-X was loaded with features like 4-wheel vacuum assisted disk brakes, retractable seat belts, electric windows and a lot more. It came very close to going into production and the reason not to, was probably because of the release of the Datsun 240Z. The model won the world over and the price was super competitive which showed in its sale, the 240Z became the biggest selling coupe in the world.

The Commodore range will go on sale in August 2006 and includes several models.

The prices vary between $33.990 for the S Ute manual and $34.990 for the automatic one. $42.490 is the price for the Thunder SS Ute manual and automatic and $48.690 you must pay for the Thunder SS Crewman manual and automatic.
