Saab`s new 9-5 enters the UK market priced at just £26,495 OTR for the 2.0TiD 160PS Vector SE model, making it a highly competitive proposition for buyers in the premium saloon sector. Cars are available to order from Saab dealerships today.

Saab developed the 9-5 model which is presented in Frankfurt at the 2009 International Motor Show. The model has progressive, confident styling and advanced technology. Its distinctive new flagship will bring a fresh, alternative choice to the premium saloon segment when it goes on sale in 2010. There is a choice of three fuels petrol, diesel and E85 bio-ethanol. The dynamic character of the car is emphasized by a falling roof-line that culminates in sweeping rear pillars that buttress a slightly recessed rear screen. Saab will introduce the Turbo X at the Frankfurt International Motor Show this year as a celebration of three decades of leadership in turbo-charging. It will be a limited edition and will introduce the revolutionary XWD technology. The model is powered by a 2.8-liter V6 turbo engine that is capable of delivering 280 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Saab XWD is an active all-wheel-drive system designed to optimize vehicle handling and stability. The driving benefits of this system are best appreciated out on the open road. Distinctive styling additions are designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency, as well as emphasize the performance of the Turbo X. The driver benefits from improved sensations through the addition of a thick-rimmed, soft leather steering wheel. The sporty ambience is further emphasized by a carbon-fiber finish to the main fascia which is unique to the Turbo X.

Saab developed the 9-3 Sport Sedan and SportCombi range and plans to deliver sporty performance and excellent chassis dynamics. Saab released a few images of the 9-3 range for the first time and it seems that it will have a body styling inspired by the award-winning Aero X concept car and will use innovative technology. The Saab created the 9-3 Sport Sedan, a model that is a Gold Award winner in the first-ever Top Safety Pick award by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. The frontal impact test was carried out at 40 mph against a deformable fixed barrier. The rear-end test simulates a 20 mph rear impact into a stationary car, during which the front seat/head restraint performance is assessed. Saab Real-life Safety involves the use of computer simulations and crash tests designed to replicate what happens in real collisions on real roads. During the development of the 9-3 program, the structural design and occupant protection systems of the 9-3 Sport Sedan were evaluated in consumer and legally required crash tests as well as a large number of in-house configurations. Different prototype tests were carried out in the laboratory and outdoors in a range of speeds and configurations.

To celebrate twenty years of Convertible sales success, Saab announced an anniversary model: the Saab 9-3 Convertible 20 Years Edition. It will be unveiled in the US as the latest expression of an iconic product that combines sporty design with surprising functionality. It is offered on the market for $ 44.615 and it is powered by a 2.8-liter V8 turbo engine that is capable of delivering 250 horsepower. The model will go on sales in February 2006 and it will be sold only in the United States. In some European markets, the Saab Convertible has achieved an annual share of the premium convertible segment as high as 30 % and this is actually a remarkable penetration when compared to the usual 6% share of the premium car segment of Saab.
