At the MPH 2007 Show we will have the possibility to see the UK premiere of the Saab Turbo X. The model was built as a celebration of 30 years of Saab turbo-charging. Initially, the model was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It seems that it will be built as a limited edition and only 500 units will be sold in the UK for GBP32.495 each. The carmaker used for the first time the XWD all-wheel-drive system. Its 2.8-liter V6 turbo engine is able to develop 280 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. You can start ordering the Turbo X now and also the model is available in Saloon or Sport-Wagon body-styles. First customers will receive their cars at the beginning of next year.

It will be a limited edition and will introduce the revolutionary XWD technology. The model is powered by a 2.8-liter V6 turbo engine that is capable of delivering 280 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Saab XWD is an active all-wheel-drive system designed to optimize vehicle handling and stability. The driving benefits of this system are best appreciated out on the open road. Distinctive styling additions are designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency, as well as emphasize the performance of the Turbo X. The driver benefits from improved sensations through the addition of a thick-rimmed, soft leather steering wheel. The sporty ambience is further emphasized by a carbon-fiber finish to the main fascia which is unique to the Turbo X.
Saab had recently announced the fact that it will introduce the limiter edition Aero-performance version of the Saab 9-7X that will arrive in dealerships early this autumn. The model is powered by a 6.0-liter small-block V8 engine that is capable of delivering 390 horsepower and 395 lb. ft. of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than six seconds. The engines deliver a level of responsive performance in keeping with the excellent dynamics of the chassis. The models have the stiffest four and five-door body structures yet produced by Saab, offering solid foundations on which their exemplary handling, ride and safety elements are built. In EuroNCAP crash tests, the 9-3 Sport Sedan and the Convertible version have achieved a maximum five-star rating.

The carmaker offers the possibility to choose from three engine types: gasoline, diesel or bio-ethanol. The frontal impact test was carried out at 40 mph against a deformable fixed barrier. The rear-end test simulates a 20 mph rear impact into a stationary car, during which the front seat/head restraint performance is assessed. Saab Real-life Safety involves the use of computer simulations and crash tests designed to replicate what happens in real collisions on real roads. During the development of the 9-3 program, the structural design and occupant protection systems of the 9-3 Sport Sedan were evaluated in consumer and legally required crash tests as well as a large number of in-house configurations. Different prototype tests were carried out in the laboratory and outdoors in a range of speeds and configurations.
