Scion recently announced that the only limited-production tC for 2009, the tC Release Series 5.0 (tC RS 5.0), will have a Toyota Racing Development (TRD) theme and be available at dealer showrooms in March.

Scion will compete in a professional road race series with its tC model this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. The JD Scion tC team uses OE parts supplied by the carmaker, RD-supplied supercharger and intercooler, front big brake kit and limited-slip differential. This is not all. The model runs on Nitto 235/40R17 Nt-01 tires with Enkei RPF 1 17x8 wheels. It features Vogland springs, Progress Technology rear sway-bar, Moton Suspension coilover shocks and a lot more. The model was developed to be the new Scion sports coupe icon by combining entertainment, digital technology and versatility. In the video mode, the front passenger seat folds flat and serves as a table or footrest. In driving mode, the screens turn off and a multi-informational display is used for driver information. In the cargo mode the utility is maximized as the front passenger seat and rear seats fold down to form a flat surface and multi-functioning rear cargo access allows stowage of large items.
