Wiesmann revealed the Roadster MF5 at the International Motor Show IAA. The model is powered by a 5.0-liter V10 BMW engine that is capable of delivering 507 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque and can reach a top speed of 310 km/h. The extendable rear wing of the roadster version plus perfectly balanced suspension set-up guarantees the necessary stability, even at top speeds. Also the engine enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. The model will be developed as a limited edition and so, only 55 units will be built. The Roadster MF5 is available from a basic price of EUR 189.000. The live production of the Wiesmann GT MF4 with 367 horsepower and a 4.8-liter engine can be followed locally at the IAA.
Wiesmann revealed the GT MF5 sports car. It has a classic design and uses state-of-the-art technology and is powered by a BMW V10 engine that is capable of developing 507 horsepower. The model completes the sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 310 km/h. In terms of safety, the new GT MF5 features integrated side impact protection, ABS, Dynamic Stability Control, height and reach-adjustable safety steering column, BMW security system including recognized electronic immobilizer, three-point seat belts and hydraulic power steering. The cockpit is geared in all respects to the functions of a sports car. Everything that is necessary for driving and operating the vehicle is within perfect reach of the driver.
The Wiesmann GT with the model name of MF5 will be revealed at the IAA. It features a compacted V10-cylinder front-mounted mid-engine with a cubic capacity of 5-liters boasting 507 horsepower which are generated by 7.750 crankshaft rotations. A maximum torque of 520 Nm ensures a powerful drive at all speeds and driving fun at its best. The power is being sent to the wheels through a 7-speed transmission and the car is capable of speeding from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The GT MF5 comes with especially designed bucket seats with and excellent lateral support and also special carbon seats are also available by request. The safety is ensured by energy absorbing car body parts, by a stiff aluminum monocoque and by the serial ABS combined with a dynamic stability control system DSC. The model is scheduled to be launched in the spring of 2008.
The Wiesmann-Roadster is now a dynamic and powerful sports car, made for convertible enthusiasts. In 2003 the models received a facelift on their 10th anniversary. It features two powerful engines: a normally-fitted 3.0-liter that is capable of producing 231 horsepower and another one that is capable of delivering 343 horsepower and 365 Nm of torque. The carmaker also offers some special equipment at an extra price like a sequential 6-speed gearbox, acceleration assistant, control light display, DSC Dynamic Stability Control and wider wheels. The optical and aerodynamic development, in combination with the modified standard equipment and great variety of individual possibilities enhanced the attractiveness of the Wiesmann-Roadster.
Wiesmann finished creating the 500th Roadster on March 2006. The very sport car will be offered from now on to the highest bidder so it will change ownership. The additional money will be donated to a non-commercial institution selected by the purchaser of the car. Today, the sports car manufacturer Wiesmann is represented in five dealerships in Germany, as well as Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, France, Spain, Scandinavia and Monaco with partners. By the end of 2006 in Italy will also be a support point.
Wiesmann developed a new model that has as base the Roadster, the Wiesmann GT. The two-seat coupe celebrated its premiere as a production vehicle at the IAA 2005 in Frankfurt. It uses a 4.8-liter BMW V8 engine. To take account of the rather higher fuel consumption of the larger engine, 10 liter additional fuel tank volume was provided, at 70 liters, to guarantee adequate range on longer journeys. The model features xenon headlights that ensure good visibility in darkness. At the rear it has LED lights that not only give a clear signal, but are also unmistakable as the hallmark of the Wiesmann GT even at night. The GT is an individual sports car with a classic design, which fits perfectly in the automotive landscape and which will capture its own niche.
