Alfa 8C Competizione 2007

The 2007 Alfa 8C Competizione is planned to enter production as a limited edition, making its international debut in Paris. Driving comfort and dynamic behaviour have always been specific features of Alfa Romeo cars, but on this car, they acquire a special meaning. It was developed with a view to ensure integration between the Maserati production departments and the Alfa Romeo design departments, as it is directly derived from the concept car that received a lot of admiration at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show. Its name defines the distinctive mark of Alfa Romeo's own sporting history. The car model is enhanced by styling, aerodynamics, tradition and innovation, showing a highly attractive shape with two bucket seats unique in the Gran Turismo scenario. It ensures an extraordinary performance without compromising the smooth drive, delivering a power output of 450 bhp at 7,000 rpm, a peak torque of 470 Nm at 4,750 rpm, as well as a maximum speed of 7,500 rpm. Volumetric efficiency and engine performance are maximised by the effective intake load cooling and high duct permeability of the cylinder head cooling system and internal fluid movements. The transaxle architecture at the rear allows impressive dynamic performance, maintaining at the same time the active safety for which Alfa Romeo cars are famous. Ultra-slick gear shifts are ensured by the six-speed gearbox featuring computerised speed selection by means of levers behind the steering wheel. Acceleration and stability are allowed by the self-locking differential, thus managing efficiency in all situations. The stylish interior boasts high quality materials together with carefully-crafted details. Furthermore, the customers are allowed to choose between different interior environments.
