Connaught Type-D GT Syracuse Edition : 2005

Connaught Type-D GT Syracuse Edition review: The Connaught Type-D GT is a hand-crafted 2+2+ sports coupé that offers best in class performance with a superb ride and handling balance.
The result is the world's most versatile sports coupé that can be enjoyed on the racing circuit or taking the children to school.

In celebration of the Connaught Grand Prix victory at Syracuse, Sicily
Connaught made history in 1955 when it became the first post-war British car with a British driver to win a Grand Prix. Tony Brooks, driving in his first Grand Prix, could both out-accelerate and out-brake the Italian and German cars which were dominating the World Championship in that era.
With an average speed of 99.05 mph Mr Brooks not only broke the previous record by almost four mph, but also reinvigorated the British automotive industry.

Connaught Type-D GT Syracuse Edition
Connaught celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Syracuse victory with the introduction of a high performance Connaught Type-D Syracuse Edition. This innovative and exquisitely engineered hand-built GT is a tribute to the legacy of Connaught. With production limited to 100 vehicles, exclusivity is guaranteed.

Supercharged Connaught V10 engine
At the heart of every great sports car is a great engine; and in the case of the Connaught GT, this has never been more true. Designed and built by Connaught, the supercharged 2.0 litre V10 engine delivers 300bhp, which provides the GT with a better power-to-weight ratio then any other vehicle in its class.
Developed for outright performance yet offering a seating capacity for four, this Connaught V10 delivers a maximum speed of 170mph (273km/h).

Superb performance, spacious interior
Extraordinarily flexible power delivery is not the only reason for the superb performance of the Type-D GT. Just as important is its lightweight, composite and stainless steel structure with aluminium body panels, offering class-leading strength and rigidity. The front-mid engine layout, light-weight technology and a low centre of gravity ensures perfect weight distribution and delivers exceptional agility, balance and handling.
Connaught is unique, combining outstanding performance with a spacious 2+2+ interior lay-out. Refined yet practical, the Connaught GT Syracuse comes with personalised leather and aluminium interior, air conditioning with climate control and ISOfix child restraint system.

Available in 2006, orders now being taken
The Type-D GT Syracuse Edition will be the first car available in the Type-D range. Demand is high, and a 20% reservation fee would be required to secure your chosen chassis number. For more information please contact the Connaught sales office on 0870 3389733.
