Jaguar X-Type Spirit Limited Edition review:
Jaguar X-TYPE buyers now have a new special edition model to tempt them. The 2.5 AWD Spirit Limited Edition, which features the recently announced Jaguar 'Sports Collection' accessory body styling package as standard, is available to order now.
The new 'Sports Collection' accessory body styling package gives the X-TYPE a more athletic, sportier appearance. Available to order at extra cost on all new X-TYPEs – but standard on the new 2.5 Spirit Limited Edition – the full range of accessories comprises a new front lower spoiler, black mesh finish for both upper and lower grille openings , lowered side sills and a new, lower rear valance. A more pronounced rear boot spoiler and new exhaust tailpipe finishers also feature.
In addition to the Jaguar Sports Collection treatment, the X –TYPE 2.5 AWD Spirit Limited Editions will bear a unique 'Spirit' badge on the right hand side of the boot plinth, below the 2.5 engine badge.
The standard specification of this new limited edition X-TYPE includes, cruise control, metallic paint, 8way/2way leather seats, front sliding armrest, rear armrest with cupholders, bronze Sapele veneer fascia and door inserts, auto aircon, remote ICE controls, trip computer and 17" Cayman wheels.
Jaguar Design Director, Ian Callum commented, "This Limited Edition version has been designed to further enhance the appearance of the X-TYPE and highlight the benefits and appearance of our body-styling kits. By emphasising the stance of the X-TYPE by lowering the visual aspect, the car gains a more aggressive, purposeful look. The whole attitude of the car has been lowered giving the impression it is hugging the road."
There will be 450 Spirit Limited Edition cars in a choice of four different colour combinations; Platinum, Quartz, Ebony and Jaguar Racing Green. The advertised price will be £23,800 OTR.
Depending on model, the full 'Sports Collection' package can be ordered for all existing X-TYPE Diesel and petrol saloon vehicles - or retro-fitted - for around £1,495 excluding wheels.
