The 1997 McLaren F1 GT was deigned to feature the same downforce of the LM version, but with less drag.
McLaren F1 GT review:
The F1 GT was designed to have the same downforce of the LM version but with less drag.
To do this McLaren built the car in a similar fashion to the GTR Longtail.
