Opel Vectra 2006 model

The 2006 Opel Vectra is planned to hit the car markets on September 17, after having made its world premiere at the Frankfurt International Show. The car model boasts new features that are highlighted by a new, striking look, a modified engine range, as well as an array of unique technical features. Furthermore, a new chassis tuning which integrates optimized steering precision in order to provide an improved comfort together with more distinctive driving dynamics, is available for the new Vectra and Signum models. Available with the 2.2 Direct engine, the IDSPlus chassis incoporating electronic CDC is unique in this class, while the bi-xenon headlamps featuring curve and cornering light, are also best-in-class. Hans H. Demant, Vice President Engineering, General Motors Europe, stated that the new front clearly expressed the superb driving dynamics of the new Vectra models and new Signum and combined ith numerous class-leading technical innovations, it resulted in a continous success in the mid-size segment. 600,000 third-generation Vectras were sold worldwide, thus playing an extremely important role in Opel's 30 top results during numerous tests completed by German and European automotive press since 2004. The customers of the new Signum and Vectra will definitely enjoy the pleasure of driving a car model that boasts a fresh design, improved driving dynamics together with many refined details. The price of the Vectra starts at 20,350 euros, while the Signum is priced at 23,680 euros. A further development of the new Opel design language is the newly designed front end, expressing sportiness and dynamics. The Signum received from its designers additional accents in the front design, as they aimed to visually emphasize the special position of the Signum as a fine example of elegance and dynamics. The interior od these two models offers the driver and passengers high quality look and feel with the top sections of the door trim and instrument panel featuring a new, leather-look grain. Concerning the powertrain, a wide range of modern ECOTEC engines is available for the new Vectra and Signum, including five gasoline engines and four CDTI common-rail diesels, all of them meeting the Euro 4 emissions standard.
