Renault Clio S1600 Rally

In 2002, the ultimate version of the Clio entered in competition and managed to collect titles and victories ever since. The model has as base the Clio 1.6-liter 16V, but now, the new model has an engine that had doubled its power being able to produce 220 BHP. The power is being sent to the wheels through a sequential six-speed transmission and the contact with the road is being ensured by in-house design shock-absorbers. The price of the new Clio is EUR 110.000 (VAT not included). The main features of the model include front and rear suspensions with springs and specially-made struts, hydraulic handbrake, 17-inch alloy wheels, Michelin 16 x63 x17 tires or 16 x65 x 15. Its dimensions are 1783 mm width in the front and 1780 mm in the rear, 2495 mm wheelbase. The fuel tank capacity is 60 l and it weights 1000 kg.

Entering competition in 2002, the ultimate version of the Clio has rapidly become the benchmark of the Super 1600 class. Used by the official Clio Team as well as private teams throughout Europe (47 cars as at March 2004), it has been collecting titles and victories.

Based on the Clio 1.6 16V, the car undergoes a complete transformation. The special Matter-welded body is reinforced with 40 metres of tubing. Engine power is doubled compared with the standard car, giving it 220 bhp.

The transmission uses a sequential six-speed gearbox and contact with the road is ensured by in-house designed shock-absorbers.
