Lotus is a very well known company that now sells its cars in 32 countries and its market continues to grow. The 2008 model year line up increased levels of performance for both Elise and Exige and they continue with the improvements when it comes to experience. The 2008 model year, the production version of the Elise, is powered by an engine that is capable of delivering 220 PS thanks to the performance pack it was equipped with. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 150 mph. The supercharged Exige S can deliver 240 PS and can reach a top speed of 160 km/h. Other new elements make the Elise and the Exige ranges more sophisticated and better value than before. The airbags for the driver and passengers are being offered as standard now.

Lotus celebrates 40 years of activity and so, an Open Day will take place in September 2007. The assembly halls will be opened as well and you will see all the winning Lotus cars that are built here. Lotus Engineering is an internationally recognized automotive engineering consultancy based in Norfolk, UK. Its global facilities include those in Michigan, USA, Malaysia, Germany and China. There will also be a display of examples of all the cars manufactured at HETHEL over the 40 years. At the 77th Annual International Motor Show in Geneva, Lotus revealed the Exige GT3. This is a model that can deliver 275 PS and 258 Nm of torque and was a new showcase product derived from their race car performance division, Lotus Sport. It can reach a top speed of 160 mph. The engine features an oil accumulator unit that is called Accusump that assures that the engine oil pressure remains constant in case of extreme track use. Twin oil coolers complete the power-train package. The design includes RS14 sports brake pads all round, high grade silicone brake fluid, stainless steel braided brake hoses. It features a rear double shear track control arm brace that is provided to cope with different abuses during heavy track day driving.

Lotus revealed the 2-Eleven at the 77th Annual Geneva International Motor Show. The model will only be available in Launch Edition specification. Also, the Lotus 2-Eleven is priced at EUR 49.575 in Europe. The recommended selling price will be EUR 39.995. in the United Kingdom, the car will cost EUR 1.100 more, including the delivery, pre-delivery inspection, first service, number plates, first registration fee, valet, 12 months road fund license, a fuel tank of fuel and SVA tests. The model is powered by a supercharged and intercooled 1796 cc engine that is able to deliver 255 PS. The carmaker will start production in April 2007 at the manufacturing facility at the Lotus headquarters in Norfolk, UK.

The dampers have been re-calibrated to give stiffer bump and rebound settings. The car is fitted with O.Z. Racing one piece lightweight cast alloy 16-spoke wheels. The rear wheel size remains the same, but the front one has increased from 5.5 inches to 6.5 inches. The car will be very easy to recognize as it will have very powerful colors and decals. Lotus revealed the model year 2007 Sport Exige Cup at the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show. It is powered by a supercharged and intercooled sports car that is able to deliver 252 horsepower and 179 lb. ft. of torque. It can reach a top speed of 160 mph and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.8 seconds. A sporty clutch plate and heavy duty clutch cover transfers the engine power and torque to the lightweight C64 six-speed transmission with the same perfectly spaced ratios as the Exige S. The power-train package is completed with twin oil coolers. The car is equipped with a four-channel ABS system that enhances braking performance and minimizing stopping distance without taking over from the skill of the driver. It has the safety equipment that is expected for a track car.
