BMW M3 CSL by MR Car Design

...

The German carmaker BMW managed to develop a lot of limited edition M3s in a 26 year period, but there is the 2004 M3 CSL which managed to obtain the admiration of a lot of fans. The specialists only produced 1.383 units for its 2004 model year run. The engineers turned all their focus on reducing weight over the standard model. The Coupe Sport Leichtbau was in the end 110 kg lighter than the regular model M3. Even so, the engine was more powerful and the suspension was re-tuned. The excitement starts now as the German tuning company MR Car Design has developed a tuning package for the Bavarian sports coupe turning it into a track racer for REIL Performance racing team.

The specialists modified the model on the inside, but then, they tried and succeeded to lower the weight of the car. How? They replaced the rear and side windows with Plexiglas. The M3 CSL also received a carbon fiber version of the boot lid just like the one the regular model has. MR Car Design specialists also added a very big wing borrowed form a Porsche GT3 racer. The modifications do not stop here. The tuners upgraded the engine and the exhaust enabling them to produce a total output of 386 horsepower. To handle the extra ponies, the engineers improved the suspension and, of course, the braking system.

All the power is being transferred to the road through a new set of BBS Motorsport alloy wheels covered in Yokohama tires. A quick release mechanism was added for the hood and boot and the exterior was finished with a new wrap and livery. On the inside it features race-spec bucket seats, roll cage and steering wheel. The price of the transformation of the BMW M3 CSL was established at EUR130.000.
