Hyundai Concept Genesis

The 2008 Hyundai Concept Genesis had its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show, hinting at the future architecture and design of a rear-wheel drive premium sports sedan. Steve Wilhite, chief operating officer, Hyundai Motor America, announced at the press conference that the concept Genesis extended their product range into new territories from a performance, design and packaging perspective and its arrival in 2008 would catapult Hyundai into competition against some potent rivals. The brand's desire to broaden its appeal to discerning driving enthusiasts is obvious in the model's all-new rear-wheel drive platform, while its newly developed Tau DOHC 32-valve V-8 powertrain announces beginning of premium performance for the Hyundai brand. John Krafcik, vice president, Product Development and Strategic Planning, Hyundai Motor America, further stated that the concept Genesis was a a manifestation of Hyundai`s extraordinary desire to deliver world-class products across all model segments at an affordable price of well under $30,000. The industry's most important new safety technology, the Electronic Stability Control, controls steering performance and premium handling, continually analyzing road speed, throttle position, lateral yaw rate and other factors. It also delivers leading safety technology, preventing accidents and maximizing the well being of its occupants in the event of a collision. The key life-saving active safety technology such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with traction control, eight airbags and active headrests, continue the Hyundai tradition.
