Subaru Impreza STI to contest Nurburgring 24-hour race

Subaru Tecnica International will head to the Nurburgring circuit in May to participate at the 37th ADAC Zurich 14 Hour Race. The specialists will participate with a very originally tuned version of the Impreza STI trying to win. The race takes place at the course of 25.378 km in total and it is the largest endurance event in the world. More than 200 cars will participate. The objectives of STI with the participation to this event are to collect data and verify technical know-how and also to learn out of this race for future STI vehicle development. This is focused on further enhancing the unique ride quality which can be characterized by the theme. The model that will participate is the Impreza WRX STI which has been built and tuned exclusively by STI adopting a variety of original chassis and body stiffer and components. All changes also include weight-reduction and safety equipment installation. The model will participate in the SP3T class and STI will conduct the team management for this race. The entire process will be supervised by Hidehary Tatsumi, the General Manager of Vehicle Experiment Division of STI. At the wheels we will have four highly experienced professional Japanese drivers. The model is powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC turbo engine with Symmetrical AWD. It also has a strut at the front and a double wishbone suspension at the rear.
