At Indaba 2011, one of Africa's largest tourism events the Electric Defender Game Viewer Concept Vehicle will be officially reviled.
The Electric Defender Game Viewer Concept has been developed by Land Rover specialist Barker Performance Products with technical support from Land Rover product development specialists.
Kevin Flynn, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa said the Electric Game Viewer Concept is the perfect synergy of the Defender's outstanding reputation as the definitive game viewing vehicle, as well as the drive to reduce emissions.
The Electric Defender Game Viewer Concept is using a Axeon ion battery unit. The Defender's battery system can be replenished by a solar charging unit as well as charger powered from a conventional electrical point.
The Electric Defender Game Viewer Concept has air cooled AC Induction Motor, 59 kW motor power; air cooled, lithium phosphate battery with a 300V and 27kW-hr capacity etc. One of the most important feature is the 0 g/km CO2 tailpipe emissions.
During the tests due to the near-silent operation it was possible to get closer to animals providing a wildlife experience.
